Template
[edit]Should we create a template (e.g. a sidebar) for treaties? I was thinking, we could list their signing date, date of entry into force, number of parties, etc. 24.54.208.177 05:56, 13 Apr 2005 (UTC)

Top-listing
[edit]Is there any reason for so many treaties to be at the top level in this category, or can we subcat them by chronological order and countries involved? -- Visviva 04:51, 30 July 2006 (UTC)
Suggested category structure
[edit]- Self-explanatory and already established.
- Category:Treaties by war (Only in cases where multiple treaties were made during the course of the war)
- Category:Treaties by century (Only subdivide if necessary; avoid overcategorization)

Legal terms
[edit]Should a sub-cat be created containing legal terms like Procès-verbal, reservation (law) and clausula rebus sic stantibus? I think many users might find it more convenient because otherwise Treaties probably conjures to mind specific agreements rather than a list of terms pertaining to the diplomatic process of negotiating treaties. --达伟 (talk) 17:46, 19 December 2009 (UTC)
Categorisation of treaties with many national signatures.
[edit]Currently, wikipedia has articles on many treaties (for example - Fourth_Geneva_Convention) - that have a very large "categories" listing, because every nation that is a signatory to that treaty gains a separate "treaty's of nation X" category. This creates a uniquely large category block at the end of suck articles, that in my view is unhelpful to the presentation of such articles. This page is a bit of a niche, so i am anticipating i may need to take this to an RFC or other forum, but any comments on this would be welcome!
